About Hike Bike and Raft around Annapurna
Experience the complete Nepal: beautiful nature, rustic villages, downhill mountain biking and Class IV+ rafting.
Trekking begins from Besishahar, a village located between Kathmandu and Pokhara. We follow two major rivers, the Kali Gandaki and Marsyangdi, through a series of impressive gorges. Making our into the upper Annapurna region, we pass traditional homes and locals in cultural dress. Towering peaks line the sky and children race to meet us with hands folded in “Namaste” greeting. Our challenge is Thorong La Pass (5,416m), the highest point on our trip that leads down into the holy city of Mukinath. Buddhists and Hindus travel here to pray and bathe in 108 water spouts.
After relaxing for the night, our mountain biking begins with a thrilling descent. With technical single tracks and wide-open Jeep roads, this area has options for all abilities and skill levels. We then glide down to Marpha where we can sample local apple brandy and visit ancient monasteries. Those with sore bodies will love the natural hot springs at Tatopani, and tired muscles will be restored before we take to the waters in Maldunga.
We’ll spend three days navigating whitewater rapids in the Kali Gandaki before coming home Pokhara’s lively night scene.
